In contrast to a typical elegy， Twin Ports Overture has a celebratory feel， sparkling and colorful. Brass is prominent in many parts of the work， especially featuring Mr. Stellmaker’s instrument， the trombone. The well-known hymn “Praise Ye the Lord， The Almighty，” which was played at his memorial service， is featured prominently throughout the work. |
